Quebec Construction Code - Chapter I, Building, and National
Building Code of Canada 1995 (amended) Chapter I of the Quebec Construction
Code, entitled "Building", largely adopts the National Building Code of Canada
(NBC) 1995.
It differs from the NBC in that certain amendments have
been made, including the creation of a new category of occupancy (i.e.
residential board and care occupancy), relaxed requirements pertaining to
sprinklers, and measures intended to make buildings more accessible to persons
with physical disabilities.
The new Quebec Construction Code also
contains important and long awaited changes with respect to the scope of the
Code and the responsibilities of the different stakeholders. This convenient
office consolidation contains both Chapter I of Quebec's Construction Code and
an amended version of the NBC that integrates Quebec modifications clearly
labelled within the main Code text. |
