The Engineering Guide for Wood Frame
Construction has been produced by the Canadian Wood Council to provide
guidance to engineers, building designers, building officials, builders, and
students of these disciplines, on the structural design of wood elements and
connections for wood frame buildings that
- a) fall within the scope of Part 9, Housing and Small Buildings of the
National Building Code of Canada and
- b) due to the size, location or configuration of
the building, engineering design is required in order to augment the
prescriptive requierements in Part 9 (See the Foreword for additional
explanation)

This is the third edition of the Guide and it
supersides the previous published in 2001 and 2004. The Guide was revised, in
this 2009 Edition, in order to conform to changes in the 2010 edition of the
National Building Code of
Canada.
