Le cédérom Canadiana
énumère et décrit un grand nombre de publications
produites au Canada, notamment des livres, des périodiques, des
thèses, des documents du gouvernement, des feuilles de musique et des
partitions, des enregistrements sonores, des enregistrements vidéo, des
cédéroms et bien d'autres encore.
En plus d'être
utile aux bibliothécaires, aux libraires, aux historiens, aux
professeurs et aux étudiants, le cédérom sera aussi utile
à toute personne qui s'intéresse à la culture canadienne,
car Canadiana présente le patrimoine de l'édition du
Canada de façon claire et précise.
Le cédérom
est conçu de façon à fournir aux bibliothécaires et
aux chercheurs indépendants un document de référence
bilingue global qui comprend de puissantes fonctions de recherche à
grande échelle.
Les inscriptions peuvent être
téléchargées en version MARC (catalogage lisible par
machine), aux fins de catalogage dérivé.

The National Bibliography on CD-ROM contains 1.9 million records and
features:
- all the records that were in previous issues of
Canadiana on CD-ROM
- bibliographic and name authority records added or
changed by the National Library up to the end of December 2005
- records for Carto-Canadiana added or changed by the
National Archives up to the end of December 2005
- records for Early Canadiana microfilmed and
published up to the end of December 2005 by the Canadian Institute for
Historical Microreproductions (CIHM)
- includes the MARC 21
bibliographic and authorities manuals
- improved, user-friendly search interface
