Le rapport annuel au
Parlement, Les sociétés d'État et autres
sociétés dans lesquelles le Canada détient des
intérêts, a été dressé
conformément aux articles 151 et 152 de la Loi sur la gestion des
finances publiques (LGFP) selon lesquels le président du Conseil du
Trésor est tenu de déposer chaque année au Parlement un
rapport consolidé sur les activités de l'ensemble des
sociétés d'État mères.

dans lesquelles le Canada détient des intérêts, propose
les chapitres suivants: |

Chapitre 1 - Vue
d'ensemble des institutions du gouvernement fédéral
- Les sociétés d'État ne
constituent que l'un des différents types d'institutions qui composent
le gouvernement fédéral. Le présent chapitre donne une vue
d'ensemble du gouvernement fédéral en énumérant les
différents types d'institutions, ainsi que les portefeuilles
ministériels auxquels elles appartiennent, comme la situation se
présentait le 31 juillet 2009.
Chapitre 2 - Sociétés
d'État
- La présente section met en lumière
les nouvelles lois et politiques et les changements structurels touchant les
sociétés d'État mères du gouvernement
fédéral qui sont entrés en vigueur ou qui faisaient
l'objet de modifications pendant la période visée, à
savoir du 1er août 2008 au 31 juillet 2009. En outre, cette section
résume d'autres activités pertinentes, notamment les
vérifications et les examens spéciaux de sociétés
d'État.
Chapitre 3 - Autres sociétés dans
lesquelles le Canada détient des intérêts
- Le gouvernement fédéral
détient des intérêts ou participe à la direction
dans nombre d'institutions. Le présent chapitre fournit des
détails au sujet de ces autres sociétés, tel que la
situation se présentait au 31 juillet 2009. Les profils des autres
sociétés dans lesquelles le Canada détient des
intérêts sont affichés sur le site Web du
Secrétariat du Conseil du Trésor du Canada.
La période sur laquelle porte le rapport
s'échelonne du 1er août 2008 au 31 juillet 2009, sauf indication
contraire.

The 2009 Annual Report to Parliament on
Crown Corporations and Other Corporate Interests of Canada is prepared
in accordance with sections 151 and 152 of the Financial Administration Act.
These sections require that the president of the Treasury Board table annually
a consolidated report on the businesses and activities of all parent Crown
corporations and information on other corporate interests of Canada. The
president is also required to indicate when reports and summaries were due to
be tabled in each House of Parliament and when they were actually tabled. This
information is collected through an annual call for corporate information
undertaken by the Treasury Board Secretariat.
This report is a unique
source of information on the Government of Canada's corporate holdings. It
provides comprehensive information on the activities of all Crown corporations
and their wholly owned subsidiaries, as well as the other corporate interests
of Canada. Information on the performance of a number of Crown corporations is
also highlighted in the report.
Tabled in the House of Commons on
November 23, 2009, the report for 2009 presents additional information,
including a description of the federal institutional forms that make up the
Government of Canada as well as an inventory of such institutions, collected
pursuant to the Policy on Reporting of Federal Institutions and Corporate
Interests to Treasury Board Secretariat, which came into effect on April 1,
2007. This policy supports the annual updating of information regarding the
current composition of the Government of Canada as well as the current federal
participation in mixed and joint enterprises, international organizations, and
shared governance corporations.
Crown Corporations and Other
Corporate Interests of Canada comprises the following chapters:
- Overview of Federal Government Institutions:
identifies and briefly describes the different types of federal government
institutions and provides a listing of institutional forms by ministerial
portfolio. Corporate profiles for each of the federal government institutions
are available on the Treasury Board Secretariat website.
- Crown Corporations' Corporate Holdings:
which highlights policy developments affecting Crown corporations during the
reporting period, outlines the various types of reviews and audits that Crown
corporations have been subjected to, lists parent Crown corporations and their
subordinate interests by ministerial portfolio (noting changes since last
year's report), and provides consolidated financial and employment information.
The reporting period runs from August 1, 2008, to July 31, 2009, unless
otherwise stated. Corporate profiles for each Crown corporation have also been
included in this chapter in addition to the required report on the timely
tabling of Crown corporation documentation.
- Other Corporate Interests of Canada:
describes shared-governance, mixed, joint, and international corporations, any
corporations or shares held by the government as a result of the provisions of
the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, and compares changes in corporate interests
since last year's report. Corporate profiles for each of the other corporate
interests of Canada are available on the Treasury Board Secretariat
website.
Beginning with the 2008 report, Crown
Corporations and Other Corporate Interests of Canada is published in a
bilingual format. Previous reports were published in separate English and
French editions.
Crown Corporations and Other Corporate Interests of
Canada 2009 includes a pull-out poster titled Canadian Federal
Institutions and Relevant Corporate Interests
Note: the companion
piece to this report, Corporate Profiles of Other Corporate Interests of
Canada, is only published electronically this year and is available on the
