The 2010 Annotated Tremeear's Criminal Code

New amendments to the Criminal Code and related criminal legislation in the 2010 edition include:
  • An Act to amend the Criminal Code (criminal procedure, language of the accused, sentencing and other amendments), S.C. 2008. c. 18. This Act received Royal Assent on May 29, 2008. It makes wide-ranging amendments to the Code in the areas of sentencing and procedure, among others.
  • An Act to amend the National Defence Act, the Criminal Code, the Sex Offender Information Registration Act and the Criminal Records Act, S.C. 2007, c. 5 came into force on September 12, 2008. This Act amends the Criminal Code to enhance the administration and enforcement of the current registration scheme for sex offender information.
  • The Evaluation Of Impaired Operation (Drugs And Alcohol) Regulations, SOR/2008-196 (in force July 2, 2008), which sets out the qualifications of evaluating officers together with the permissible co-ordination and evaluation tests and procedures for the purposes of s. 254 of the Code.
.This year's edition also includes a CD-ROM which contains the full text of Tremeear’s Annotated Criminal Code 2010 along with the full text of the cases summarized within the main work. The 2010 edition incorporates throughout new cross-references to relevant Specimen Jury Instructions (WMCJI).

This edition contains all relevant cases as of May 1, 2009. All major statutory developments are included, and legislation that has received Royal Assent, but which has not yet been proclaimed in force, appears as shaded text.
