Career Handbook, 2nd Edition |
| Career Handbook, the companion volume to the National Occupational Classification, is an invaluable
resource for career counselors, students and job seekers. Based on the NOC and
Holland coding system, the Career Handbook follows the organization and
content of the NOC's Occupational Descriptions and includes additional
subgroups for many of the NOC unit groups. Nearly 900 occupations are profiled
in the Career Handbook. These profiles describe the characteristics that
are associated with an occupation, as well as the main attributes necessary to
perform the work. Requirements are also expressed in terms of rating scales
covering: aptitudes, interests, data/information, people and things (DPT),
physical activities, environmental conditions and education/training.
